Cars - for some folks they are nothing but a way to get around and for other cars are a lot more than just a way to the store. For the enthusiast cars are a hobby and a lot more. Car guys and gals will spend more money on their car each month souping it up or making it look different than they pay on a car payment and not bat an eye. In the world of cars there are all sorts of rides from the foreign type with giant wings and lots of stickers to good old American muscle. I like all sorts of cars as long as they are cool, look good, and perform but to some nothing beats American muscle.
For a few years it seemed that the muscle car was going to die off when the Camaro was ended, thankfully GM bought the car back. The only muscle car that has been on the scene since the muscle cars of the 60's is the Ford Mustang, and the Mustang is back with a vengeance this year. A bunch of other muscle cars are back as well with Dodge offering the Charger and the Challenger. It’s a good time to be a fan of muscle cars, that's for sure.
Each of the muscle cars on the market today be it the Camaro, the Mustang, the Charger, or the Challenger go about what they do in different ways and they all have a very retro edge to them. I can say that I like the looks of all of them. However, when it comes to performance they don’t all match up. You can't just look at the horsepower ratings and tell what car will be the fastest. The Mustang GT makes less power than most other muscle cars, but it's comparably lightweight and its handling make it a car to beat in many tests. Sit back, relax and check out my picks for the top muscle cars of the modern era. These are in no particular order, and by that I mean no hate mail telling me one car should be above the other! Enjoy!
