FORD MUSTANG 2013

Classic Design Concept has announced plans to unveil a bespoke Ford Mustang at the 2013 SEMAShow next week. Muscle Cars World wants to keep you updated for all musclecars news around SEMA 2013. Called “Bad Penny”, the musclecar features a black and copper paint job that makes it more appropriate for a Halloween reveal, but guess we can keep our shirts on for a few more days.

Jeff Scofield’s GT500 Makes 1,176-rwhp with Stroked 5.8L

Jeff Scofield is not one to do anything slow. He’s owned the gamut of performance cars, but this 2014 Shelby GT500 has shown to have staying power. Scofield started with usual upgrades like a Kenne Bell 3.6LC supercharger, and intake and exhaust improvements. With a little nitrous thrown in the mix, the car made really good power.

However, the stock engine’s oil pump gears gave out while running down GTRs, which necessitated a redo. Progressive Racing Engines redid the short block, and the stock heads went back on with Comp Cams Stage 3 camshafts. The Kenne Bell 3.6LC was discarded in favor of the company’s big dog 4.7L supercharger, and with 28 pounds of boost the combination was good for over 1,000-rwhp.

At the 2015 Mustang Week, mechanical damage once again reared its ugly head with a broken rod. He noticed the engine wasn’t running right after a couple days into the event, and thought he had addressed the car’s issues with a new mass air meter. It appears, though, the damage was already set in stone, and during “spirited driving,” a connecting rod let go.

The $1 Million Shelby Super Snake Prototype

When he was alive, Carroll Shelby spent damn near every day working on cars…even though he was all but blind and far older than anybody designing 200 mph Mustang should be. Shelby was especially busy in the last years of his life, helping Ford bring the GT500 back to the market as the fastest and most affordable American supercar pretty much ever.

With his passing, everything that Shelby touched has become increasingly more valuable to collectors seeking to preserve his heritage. Even so, we can’t help but feel that this million-dollar Shelby Super Snake prototype up on eBay is a bit overpriced, all things considered.

No doubt Shelby prototype cars can fetch big bucks, even a million bucks if we’re talking about something Shelby personally owned and drove. But that kind of money is generally reserved for the true classics; cars like the ‘65 Shelby GT350 or one of the first-ever Shelby Cobras. Reading through the eBay ad, it is clear that the seller is really looking for the best offer…but because of how eBay works, he had to list a higher price…though a million bucks? Guess the seller is just keeping his options open.

As for the car itself, it is one of just 3 Shelby Super Snake prototypes built; two were coupes, and this was the only convertible. The seller is a former manager at a Shelby Mod Shop and goes on to say that this car is his personal driver. But the prototype status, as well as a signature from the whole Shelby American crew (including Carroll himself) means this car was valued at around $645,000. Wow.

But it is only worth that if someone is willing to pay that. And as much as we love the new GT500s and Super Snakes, they’ll never come close in value or sheer awesomeness as the originals.

Most elegant FERRARI

Unlike other LaFerraris we've shown you in the past (we'll return to this below), though, the one we're discussing today can stand out among its own kind without turning to visual stunts such as wraps or stripes.

The LaF was recently spotted grabbing attention in Monaco and we have to admit this might just be the most elegant incarnation of Ferrari's current halo car we've seen to date.

We're dealing with a clean approach here, one that's focused on a special shade of Grey, which shows strong blue reflections when under the sun. Given Maranello's overly generous color palette, it's difficult to guess such a hue over the web, but it looks like we're dealing with Argento Nürburgring here - if you feel this is not the case, feel free to expres your opinion using the comments section below.
